British Swimming Championships 2018

Posted: 9th March 2018

Mount Kelly swimmers excelled at the 2018 British Swimming Championships which took place in Edinburgh from 1 – 4 March. After four tough days of competition Mount Kelly's Federico Burdisso, in a field full of European and Olympic medallists, made waves by winning the final of the Senior Men's 100m Fly, leading from start to finish. Two further Mount Kelly victories came from Sam Dailley in the final of the Junior 100m Fly, who pushed hard in the last 25m of the race to take the win, and Ben Harrison in the Junior 400m Individual Medley, who forced his way to the front of the field to dominate the freestyle leg on the final 100m of the race to win by a clear margin.

The entire team performed extremely well in Edinburgh, achieving 30 finalist swims and some amazing breakthroughs, including Sandor Apponyi who just missed the 14 Years British Record in the 50m Breaststroke by 0.08 of a second!
