In order to ensure an equal gender balance in our virtual houses, we recently announced that Chichester House will be renamed after one of three powerful, successful and inspiring women. Following presentations from pupils at the Prep and the College, the whole school voted on their choice between: early pioneer of computer science Ada King; great social reformer Elizabeth Fry; and great campaigner for women’s emancipation Millicent Fawcett. Elizabeth Fry received a clear majority with 41% of the votes cast, and Chichester House will, therefore, be renamed Fry.
