Robin Brew has completed an extraordinary feat of endurance by cycling 300 miles in 24 hours non-stop!
(the same distance from Tavistock to Sheffield, where our swimmers are competing).

Robin's comments before he set off on his challenge…

With your kind help and support, my humble effort of riding non stop from Tavistock, in Devon, to Sheffield, in South Yorkshire, (around 300 miles) will help to raise money for a very special charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.

My wonderful, lovely, charming, courageous, inspiring and determined friend Susan Malone has Cancer. Susan, loves her family, loves her job, loves life and loves supporting our team of dedicated coaches, staff, swimmers and new parents who are all part of an extended family at the Mount Kelly Swimming Performance programme in Tavistock, Devon. Despite all that Susan is going through personally, she smiles the biggest and kindest smile that melts your heart.

My ride is for Susan, and for everyone else with Cancer who are having to make superhuman efforts on a daily basis, with grace, dignity and humility whilst at the same time doing battle with this awful disease. Im am truly in awe of you Susan and I just want to know that we are right behind you.

This ride will be the longest ride of my life. I don't even know if I can make it, but I am going to give it my all. Please do give what you can for a very important charity that helps so many, like Susan and former International swimmer Karen Huizer (nee Stanley) who was diagnosed with Cancer earlier this year.

Macmillan Cancer Support are here to help you find your best way through from the moment of diagnosis, so you’re able to live life as fully as you can.
