Four times National Deaf Swimming Champion

Posted: 21st April 2017

It's turning into another great year for Mount Kelly Swimmer, Alice Kinsey, after gaining an incredible 13 short course and five long course National Deaf records (Cat A). Alice went one step further over the Easter weekend by claiming  an incredible four Gold medals to be crowned National Champion (11 years and under, Cat A) in 50m breast, back, fly and freestyle at the GB National Deaf Championships at Loughborough University.

Alice was diagnosed with her hearing loss at the age of five, but this has not stopped her from following her passion. Being a local girl from Callington, Alice was supported by Robin Brew, Director of Swimming at Mount Kelly, and given an amazing opportunity to follow her dreams and train with some of the best swimmers in the country, if not the world.

Alice wishes all her friends the very best of luck when they compete at the Deaflympics in Turkey this year. For further information www.gbdeafswimming.org
