French Trip

Posted: 21st April 2015

During the last week of the Easter holiday, 42 pupils across the Foundation and from Year 5 upwards, enjoyed a fantastic time in France. They returned to the beautiful Chateau du Baffy in Normandy and enjoyed an action-packed few days, visiting the WWII sites of Pegasus Bridge, Arromanches 360 cinema and the Normandy D-Day landing beaches.  They also saw the Bayeux Tapestry and visited a local boulangerie where they learned how to make bread, with instructions all delivered in French!

The trip’s highlight was a day in Paris where they enjoyed views of the great city from the top of the Eiffel Tower, followed by seeing the Mona Lisa in the Louvre. The trip enabled the pupils to embrace so many aspects of French culture, including a degustation (a tasting of snails and frogs legs!).  Mr and Mrs Lamb, Miss Grubb, Mrs Buckley and Mrs Lowther were immensely proud of how the children threw themselves into the trip, made new friends and enjoyed lots of interesting and new experiences.
