National Poetry Day

Posted: 4th October 2019

Pupils from the Pre-Prep through to the College celebrated National Poetry Day by reading, writing, performing and sharing all kinds of poetry yesterday and today.

From silly poems to heart-wrenching ones, pupils in Years 3-8 thoroughly embraced creating their own poems, be they a haiku, kenning, sonnet or limerick.

The Upper Prep wrote poems on this year's theme of Truth, and a fabulous technique called Found Poetry was trialed with exciting results. Teachers at the College meanwhile have displayed their favourite poems and started each lesson today reciting them to pupils.
