Netball

Netball is played by all our girls during the Lent term. Many of the girls get the opportunity to play in both the hockey and netball teams adding variety to the sports that they play. Years 7 and 8 have a total of three hours of netball during games lessons and have an additional one hour squad session where tactics are put into practise for matches. Year 9 and above play netball in their 2 hour games session and also have squad practise one evening a week. In addition to this we also run a netball club during the Michaelmas term.

We take part in the National Schools competition when fixtures allow during the Michaelmas term. Our matches are played predominately on Saturdays, with a few taking place midweek. Over the past few years we have been extremely successful in the end of season Plymouth Schools Tournaments. These are always very well supported and give the girls a chance to play at the Life Centre in Plymouth. The girls are taught by experienced Level One and Two Netball Coaches who themselves play in The Plymouth and District Netball League in the Premier Divisions.

Karen Channon - Head Coach

Karen Channon is our netball Head Coach, she  currently plays in the Premier A division in the Plymouth and district league and has played in various, other leagues locally.

Karen is a qualified UKCC Level 2 netball coach.

The College has a 1st VII, 2nd VII, U15 and U14 team, each training 3 times a week during our netball season in Lent term. We have 3 outdoor courts and 1 indoor court in the sports hall.

We also run a netball academy during Michaelmas term for selected girls and encourage them to also play outside of school if possible.
