SW Regional Swimming Championships

Mount Kelly Swimming is celebrating its best performances in recent history at the South West Regional Championships at the Plymouth Life Centre over the Bank Holiday weekend. The update in numbers is as follows: 

  • 2,451 People reached on Mount Kelly Swimming Facebook Page
  • 133 Personal best performances
  • 44 Swimmers qualified for these championships from Mount Kelly – the largest number ever!
  • 38 Medals won (8 Gold, 20 Silver, 10 Bronze) – previous best 20!
  • 35 Years Sharron Davies 200 Freestyle record stood, before Megan Bowen beat it this weekend.
  • 18 The most races swum by one individual (Alex Seymour, 9 heats and 9 finals with 7 PB times and 3 medals)
  • 32 Hours of competition over 3 days!
  • 08 New Mount Kelly Records 
  • 03 Swim Coaches (Robin, Emma and Greg)
  • 01 Great Bank Holiday Weekend

Gold medals were won by Megan Bowen in the (400 Freestyle), Ben Staig in the (50 Backstroke), Julian Chan Quee Lin (400 Freestyle, 200 Fly), Reece Worth (200 & 1500 Freestyle) and Molly Peters (200 Breaststroke), Finn Linton (100 Backstroke)

Silver medals were won by Megan Bowen (200 & 800 Freestyle), Taku Chaza (50 Backstroke), Alex Seymour (400 Freestyle) & 400 IM), Reece Worth (400 Freestyle and 200 IM), Ben Staig (50 Fly & 100 Backstroke), Jacob Gibbons (50 &100 Fly)  Tom Brew (400IM), Harry Hathaway (400IM), Molly Peters (50 & 100 Breaststroke), Finn Linton (200 Backstroke),

Bronze medals were won by Finn Linton (50 Backstroke), Harry Hathaway (400 Freestyle), Julian Chan Quee Lin (200 IM), Dani Baker (100 Backstroke), Nina Giudici (200 Fly), Jade Stocker (50 &100 Breaststroke), Alex Seymour (200 Backstroke), Michael Alcorn (50 Breaststroke).
