Sustainable Energy Careers Talk

Posted: 5th March 2015

Miss Hannah Palmer MSc, who is working with the Ministry of Defence as a specialist Sustainable Energy expert, came into the Mount Kelly College site to talk to Year 8 pupils about her line of work and career opportunities for scientists in the energy sector.

Year 8 scientists are currently studying Energy as a topic so Miss Palmer’s visit was both interesting and topical. As well as detailing her career background in the field, she also focused on the various ways in which we can secure our future energy needs through to the next century, and beyond.

Along with Mount Kelly Science teacher Mr Tailyour, Hannah Palmer is one of some 200 locally based STEM Ambassadors. STEM Ambassadors give their time freely to the pursuit of educating, enthusing and exciting young minds to study Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
