Pre-Prep Forest School Week

Posted: 27th May 2016

Children in Nursery, Reception and Years 1 and 2 have had a fabulous week learning outdoors in glorious sunshine. Whether making clay faces, wading in streams, making charcoal, cooking lunch on an open fire, learning about bees and other insects, playing in the woods, whittling willow to make 'tickle sticks', playing parachute games or pond and river dipping, the children have thoroughly enjoyed a variety of educational and fun activities which have brought them closer to nature and the great outdoors.

Children in Years 1 and 2 also had a number of off-site visits including a trip to the moor, they visited Quince Honey Farm where they learned all about bees and how important they are to us humans – and not just in making honey! On their final day they visited the Otter and Butterfly Sanctuary where they learned all about these amazing mammals and insects.
