A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Posted: 22nd June 2016

As part of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s ‘Dream Team’ festival to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, Year 8 across the Foundation spent a day as a Theatre Company and performed 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. Auditioning straight after breakfast, the company then set to the task of creating and developing everything that a Shakespearean production may require, from creating two performance spaces (we had a plan B for inclement weather!), making props and programmes, to rehearsing the play in full costume with musical interludes. The Year 8 Theatre Company produced an astonishingly slick and comedic performance with many memorable moments. The cast and crew worked so hard and should be extremely proud of themselves; the story was told superbly and the audience enjoyed themselves immensely.  Very well done, Year 8!
