It was a busy weekend for Mount Kelly swimmers, with pupils travelling to Swansea, Edinburgh, Coventry and Plymouth!
ESSA Inter-Divisionals Championships
Seven Mount Kelly swimmers represented the South West in Coventry. The team finished in 3rd place with 18 Medals, one English Schools Record and one Open Mount Kelly Record for Leah in the 50m Backstroke (29.36). Well done to Sam W, Ella, Arun, Lotta, Blythe, Jack and Leah.
Swansea Aquatics Open Meet
Some brilliant performances in Swansea saw the team achieve a further 12 qualifying times for the British Championships and claim a haul of 136 medals. Congratulations to Katie B, Anthony, Chloe S, Maisie, Alex M, Erlina, Sophie M and Luke for their new qualification times.
Edinburgh International Meet
A small group of swimmers travelled to Edinburgh, where they achieved 39 Final Swims, 11 Medals and two fantastic new Open Mount Kelly Records: Erin in the 200m Freestyle (2.02.82) and Hazal in the 100m Breaststroke (1.09.48).
Plymouth Spring Open Meet
Well done to our Year 9 and Prep swimmers who raced in Plymouth, where they started their campaign to qualify to their first ever summer nationals. They produced some great racing in tough conditions with some brilliant step ups into finals.
