A Level Geography Field Trip

Posted: 18th May 2022

Year 12 A Level Geographers spent the beginning of the week on a field trip, studying the regeneration of central Bristol and the glaciated landscapes of the Brecon Beacons.

In Bristol, pupils were involved in carrying out a range of primary data collection including emotion mapping, environmental quality surveys and resident questionnaires to identify the successes and shortcomings of the attempts to improve the quality of life and economic prosperity for residents of the city.

They headed on to the Brecon Beacons, where they investigated the formation of glacial and periglacial landscapes including Pen y Fan and the classic glacial lake of Llyn Cwm Llwch.

Led by Mr Francis and Mr Prettejohn, the group had an excellent time witnessing textbook case studies in the natural rural and urban environment.
