Teacher of Mathematics

Required from September 2020

Mount Kelly, a leading independent co-educational boarding and day school, seeks to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and gifted Mathematics teacher to work in this key faculty. The role will prepare pupils for A Level and GCSE. The ability to teach further mathematics would be a distinct advantage, as would the ability to teach statistics. The post may be suitable for an NQT.

The post is full time and permanent starting from September 2020. The successful candidate will be expected to play a full part in the life of our busy boarding school which is located on the outskirts of the attractive market town of Tavistock on the edge of Dartmoor National Park in Devon.

EAL Teacher

Mount Kelly, a thriving independent co-educational boarding and day school which has grown significantly in recent years, seeks to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and gifted teacher of English as an Additional Language to teach our diverse community of overseas pupils. Experience in teaching for the Cambridge TESOL [FCE, CAE & CPE] and IELTS examinations is essential. Development & Alumni Relations Officer

We are seeking a dynamic, passionate and dedicated individual to join our Development Office to help deliver the School’s Alumni Engagement and Development Strategy. The Development Office at Mount Kelly promotes lifelong relationships between the School and the wider Mount Kelly community (particularly alumni) and also supports the advancement of the School through fundraising activities.

This busy role will build on existing strong relationships with our alumni, current parents, former parents and other friends of Mount Kelly and will support the Development & Alumni Manager in launching a new development plan to support the School’s strategic vision.

Applicants will ideally have proven experience of event and database management, and of working in a PR/marketing or fundraising environment. They will have initiative, excellent inter-personal and strong organisational skills. In addition, the successful applicant will be articulate, can demonstrate a fluency in writing, is a team player and sympathetic to the ethos behind fundraising in the independent sector.

The role is 15 hours per week over 34 weeks per year primarily during the School term time. However, a flexible approach to working hours is essential with the need for some evening and weekend working as required. The position is initially on a temporary contract for 12 months although it is anticipated it may be extended. There may also be opportunity to increase weekly hours to 22.5 hours per week.

Performance Swim Coach

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Performance Swim Coach to join Mount Kelly.

The swimming programme has run for over 20 years, producing over 80 international swimmers and since 2000, more than 20 squad members have represented their country at International and Major Championships.

The Performance Swimming Coach has a duty of care to all swimmers within the swimming programme, but will have specific responsibilities for the development of the Regional and National Swimmers.

The primary focus of the role is to deliver coaching excellence to these two specific groups and to significantly contribute to Mount Kelly’s positive swimming reputation in all areas of the coaching and competitive process which leads to significant performance improvements at all levels.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a Swim Coach and a proven track record of progressing Regional and National level swimmers.
