Art and Photography Trip

Students at an art museum

Twenty-five GCSE and A Level pupils travelled to London on Friday 23 September.

Pupils enjoyed the installation Procession by British sculptor and contemporary visual artist Hew Locke at Tate Britain, along with paintings by George Frederick Watts, JMW Turner, Francis Bacon and the Cornelia Parker exhibition.

The British Museum was the stunning venue for their current project theme The Divine to the Demonic, with its unique exhibition exploring the role that goddesses, demons, witches, spirits and saints play in shaping our understanding of the world.

Completing the day was a visit to Tate Modern where exhibits include A Year in Australia, Lubiana Himid and the very popular Yayoi Kusama. It was a long but visually thought-provoking day out which served to enthuse and inspire our pupils as they begin their next project.
