Art & Photography in London

Posted: 25th January 2016

On Saturday 23rd January, Mount Kelly pupils experienced art, photography, sculpture, assemblage and multi media installations in four of London’s most famous Art galleries: The Tate Britain, The National Gallery, The Portrait Gallery (Taylor Wessing’s Photographic exhibition) and The Tate Modern.

The group of 17 GCSE and A level pupils sketched and took photographs of London inside and outside of the galleries, documenting their intense one-day experience which incorporated a walking route past: the Houses of Parliament, 10 Downing Street, Horse Guards’ Parade, Trafalgar Square, The London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral,  The Southbank Skate Park, The National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe. Exhausted but fully inspired, the pupils returned to Mount Kelly by 10.30pm all the better for experiencing art first hand in readiness for the examinations in May.
