Conway Merchant Navy Trust Funds Places on Tall Ships Youth Trust Expeditions

Posted: 21st September 2018

Mount Kelly has further strengthened its ties with the Conway Merchant Navy Trust in a partnership which will fully fund four places each year on Tall Ships Youth Trust expeditions, for those pupils undertaking their Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Both Conway House and the Conway Merchant Navy Trust are named after the merchant navy training establishment which closed in 1974, and the Trust remains a keen supporter of Mount Kelly.

Pupils currently training for their Silver and Bronze Duke of Edinburgh awards will be invited to apply for a place on a Tall Ships expedition, and those that are successful will be asked to give a presentation to the College on their return to dry land.  This is a very significant step for the Trust, and Mount Kelly is most grateful for their generous support.
