On 7th March, Mount Kelly Swimming attended the Devon County Relay Gala at the Plymouth Life Centre, where we had some tremendous victories against the current National Team Champions. These performances truly reflect the significant progress that our swimmers are currently making at this crucial stage in the season with the National qualifying window opening at the end of this week.
The Mount Kelly teams claiming victory were the 13/14 years Boys Medley Team containing Jacob Newcombe, Oliver Taverner, Jack Hutchin and Jack Plummer. The 15/16 years Boys team consisting of Harry Turner, Michael Alcorn, Benjamin Staig and Taku Chaza then went on to claim first position in both the Freestyle and Medley events. These successes demonstrate the strength and depth Mount Kelly currently have in this age group.
All of our swimmers will now look to the Sheffield Premier Meet at the end of March which will be the first opportunity for Mount Kelly swimmers to qualify to the 2015 ?British Summer Swimming Championships.
