We were privileged to welcome Dr Andrew Wines to Mount Kelly on 9th and 10th February. His Wider World Lecture on Thursday evening to a full audience of pupils, parents and staff, gave a piercing insight into the historical context of the rise of right wing politics in America today. Judging by the quality and quantity of questions from the audience at the end, his lecture certainly inspired and has given rise to much debate.
He also gave a thought-provoking address in Chapel on Friday morning, urging pupils and staff to remain independent of thought despite the pressures of examination league tables. At the Prep, the Year 7 and 8 pupils enjoyed a fascinating history lesson with Dr Wines, after which he was interviewed for MK Prep Radio.
