Mount Kelly Wins Rendcomb Festival

Posted: 5th November 2018

Mount Kelly’s 1st XV came out victorious in the Rendcomb Festival, which was held over half term. Playing six games in challenging conditions, the boys played some excellent rugby; moving and supporting the ball with purpose and defending with real physicality and intensity at crucial times. A slow start meant the first game was drawn against St David’s College, however the 1st XV then stepped up through the gears to register five consecutive victories, which included defeating defending champions Shebbear College in an extremely hard fought contest.

The whole squad was excellent throughout the Festival but notable mentions go to scrum half and captain Freddie who lead from the front and was instrumental throughout, Alex and Nick for their tenacity in the forward pack, and Harvey who demonstrated a flawless kicking display both out of hand and from the tee.

Thank you to Rendcomb College for hosting us and we look forward defending the title in 2019.
