As part of the “Healthy living and Mediterranean diet” Spanish topic, Señora Brown organized a typical Spanish breakfast feast for Years 7, 8 and 10, to reward the students for all the hard work and for them to try a “desayuno andaluz”.
A typical “desayuno andaluz”( Andalusian breakfast ) is possibly the healthiest and more perfect breakfast one can have in the mornings.
This is how we make it:
Put a crushed tomato, quarter of a clove of garlic, a pinch of salt, a dash of olive oil and mix. Put it on a slice of freshly cut, toasted bread and then pour a generous amount of olive oil over it, and to top it up add a slice of “Jam?n Serrano” (cured ham) and say “ que aproveche” (enjoy it!)
The pupils also had the chance to try “Cola Cao” which is a delicious chocolate milk drink all Spanish children have in the morning, and to add a bit of sweetness to our Spanish breakfast, they also tried “Palmeritas”, “Sobaos”, “Magdalenas” and “Galletas Maria”.
We all enjoyed the Spanish breakfast experience so much; we have decided we will be doing this every year!
