Swimmers excel in half term competitions

Mount Kelly swimmers enjoyed tremendous success at the Swansea Aquatics Spring Long Course Open Meet at the beginning of half term, claiming a total of 78 medals including 24 Gold, 26 Silver and 28 Bronze. 

Four new British Championship Qualifying Times were achieved. 

  • Maxwell qualified for both the British Championships and French Open with his 50m Butterfly time of 26.38. 
  • Amelia achieved her first British Championships QT with a time of 34.01
  • Douglas achieved his first British Championships QT with a huge new PB of 24.56 in the 50m Freestyle 
  • Harry achieved his fourth British Championships QT in the 50m Freestyle 

Mount Kelly swimmers Sam, Isis and Benji, also enjoyed great success at the Middle East Open and Junior Championships in Dubai. All three reached the finals, with Sam and Benji also achieving British Championships Qualifying Times.

Meanwhile, at the Devon County 1500m Freestyle event, Emily claimed both the Senior and Junior Titles with an impressive new best time of 18.28, whilst Alexander swam to a medal and new PB of 21.50.
