Walking the Zambezi

Posted: 3rd March 2019

On Friday evening we were delighted to welcome Author and Adventurer, David Lemon, to recount the story of his extraordinary solo expedition to walk the length of the Zambezi river.  Over the course of nine months, David walked 2,000 miles from the source of this great river all the way to the sea, braving extremes of temperature, extraordinarily demanding terrain, and hazardous wildlife, arriving at the coast just short of his 70th birthday.  The recurrent theme of David's talk was the friendliness of the people he met along the way, and he told his tale with great good humour, leaving the audience inspired and amazed.
