Wider World Lecture

Posted: 29th September 2017

A packed auditorium welcomed Conrad Humphreys to Mount Kelly last night for the second of this term's Wider World lectures.  Conrad spoke about his extraordinary experiences recreating Captain Bligh's epic small-boat voyage across the Pacific, which was televised recently in the Channel 4 series, Mutiny.  Throughout the lecture, Conrad shared the important lessons he took from the voyage, and how he learnt to be authentic and believe in himself.  Conrad also spoke about the importance of followship, of how he encouraged the novice crew to achieve more than they believed they could, and demonstrated how enthusiasm is contagious.

Conrad Humphreys is raising funds for The Island Trust, a small Plymouth-based charity which offers voyages to disadvantaged and disabled young people.  www.theislandtrust.org.uk
