Year 8 LOTC

Posted: 22nd June 2017

The Year 8 LOTC programme was designed as a range of activities and learning opportunities to both consolidate learning form Year 8 but also to set the scene for their Year 9 studies.

Pupils camped at the Mendip Snowsport Centre where they were treated to beautiful views of the Mendip hills and lots of space to let off steam after their CE exams.  During the week the pupils had the opportunity to visit the Roman Baths, take part in a design-your-own-adventure task on SS Great Britain and learn about the Clifton Suspension Bridge as part of their History, English and Latin studies.

They also headed out on a Banksey Street art tour in Bristol and got the chance to create their own piece of spray-painted stencil art back at the workshop.  This was combined with some orienteering, swimming and disc golf in the evenings which allowed a much more relaxed atmosphere with great team work being shown by all.
