Lower Prep Shackleton Days

Posted: 24th February 2020

Just before half term, our Lower Prep pupils enjoyed their own Shackleton Days on Dartmoor.

On Thursday 13 February, the wet and windy weather did not dampen the spirits of Year 4 pupils. They spent the day map reading, mini raft-making, exploring the moor and listening to myths of Dartmoor. The children demonstrated plenty of teamwork, resilience and most importantly they had lots of fun.

Year 3 pupils ventured out to explore Nun's Cross for the first time on Friday 14 February. The day began with high cloud revealing the bleakness of this part of the moor, however the drizzle and mist came in as they built Pooh sticks from reeds and launched them in the leat. Spirits were lifted with hot chocolate and lunch and the day was enjoyed by all.
