Pupil in Top 600 Mathematicians

Posted: 6th March 2020

The United Kingdom Mathematics Trust's Intermediate Challenge encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.

Last month, 80 Mount Kelly pupils from Years 9-11 took part. 39 pupils gained a certificate and seven progress to the follow-on rounds, representing our best performance in recent years.

Congratulations in particular to Max who not only achieved a Gold certificate but also qualifies for the Maclaurin Olympiad which puts him in the top 600 pupils in the country. The next rounds take place on Thursday 19 March.
