ShelterBox Visit

Posted: 14th November 2019

Mount Kelly was delighted to welcome David Glover from ShelterBox as a guest speaker on Wednesday 13 November. During the morning, David spoke to Year 12 Geography, Year 13 Economics and Year 10 Business Studies pupils about the important work ShelterBox do in providing immediate response aid to people around the world who are suffering and in need of urgent help.

David answered questions from pupils covering a wide range of syllabus topics, including natural disasters and aid, barriers to economic development, the role of charities and the way in which a charity is run.

Several Sixth Form pupils gathered information on volunteering for the organisation and a future visit to the headquarters in Truro is planned for next term.
