How will my gift help?
We are committed to ensuring children from all backgrounds can benefit from the wonderful education we provide. As this is our fundraising priority, legacy donations will be directed to the Mount Kelly Bursary Fund. Of course, it is also possible for legacy gifts to support other areas of school life, and we would be delighted to discuss your particular interests with you.
The Mount Kelly Legacy Society
Our Legacy Society was established to recognise those who have left a bequest to Mount Kelly in their Will. All supporters receive a member’s badge and are invited to attend, with a guest, an annual lunch with the Head Master as well as other school events. Membership is open to anyone who lets us know that they have included a gift to the School in their Will. You can let us know using our:
Legacy Notification Form
How to leave a Legacy Gift
As a registered charity, all legacy gifts to the Mount Kelly Foundation (Registered Charity No. 306716) are completely free of Inheritance Tax (IHT) and can include money, land, buildings or chattels (see here for different types of legacy). You can also cut the Inheritance Tax rate on the rest of your estate from 40% to 36%, if you leave at least 10% of your ‘net estate’ to a charity.
If you have already made your Will and simply want to make an alteration to it in the form of a gift to Mount Kelly, you can use our:
Letting Us Know
We understand that leaving a gift in your Will is a decision that you will want to consider carefully, and caring and providing for your loved ones will naturally come first. However, if you have, or are intending to, name Mount Kelly as a beneficiary we would be very grateful if you could let us know by completing and returning our Legacy Notification Form. By letting us know your intentions, we can express our gratitude during your lifetime and offer you membership of the Mount Kelly Legacy Society.
Thank you for considering leaving a legacy gift to the Mount Kelly Foundation. For more information on different types of legacy gifts and what to do next, please contact Heather Ayling, Development & Alumni Relations Manager on firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 01822 813109.
