From 12 to 26 January, Mount Kelly had the pleasure of welcoming a group of enthusiastic pupils from the KK-Tiger programme in China for a two-week educational and cultural immersive experience. Their visit was filled with adventure, learning, and meaningful friendships, making it an unforgettable time for both our guests and Mount Kelly pupils alike.
From the moment they arrived, the KK-Tiger pupils embraced every opportunity to explore life at Mount Kelly. They were warmly welcomed by their Mount Kelly buddies, who helped them settle in and ensured they felt at home. The bonds that formed between the pupils were truly special, with laughter, shared experiences, and teamwork bringing them together.
Their packed itinerary was a perfect blend of education and fun. In the classroom, they engaged in dynamic lessons, experiencing the unique teaching style at Mount Kelly while improving their English and problem-solving skills. Beyond academics, they immersed themselves in the great outdoors, tackling the high ropes course, walking across Dartmoor, and enjoying exhilarating sports sessions.
Trips further afield added another layer of excitement to their visit. From the stunning coastal scenery of Newquay and Fistral Beach to the historic charm of Cambridge, each excursion provided a fresh perspective and new discoveries. A highlight for many was the visit to London, where they explored iconic landmarks, dived into history at the British Museum, and experienced the energy of the capital.
Throughout their stay, the KK-Tiger pupils’ enthusiasm was matched by the kindness and hospitality of our Mount Kelly pupils. The buddy system was a huge success, with many new friendships formed – friendships that we hope will last well beyond these two weeks. The joy and camaraderie shared during this cultural exchange were evident in every moment, from classroom collaborations to evening activities in the boarding house.
As the KK-Tiger pupils said their goodbyes, there was a real sense of accomplishment and connection. Their visit was not just about learning new things but about building bridges between cultures, embracing new experiences, and making lifelong memories. We would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff and pupils who made this visit so special and we look forward to welcoming more KK-Tiger pupils in the future for another enriching and exciting experience at Mount Kelly.
