Performance Swimming

Mount Kelly Swimming provides the very best solution for combining excellence in swimming performance and a fully integrated academic programme.

Mount Kelly Swimming, founded in 1978, has helped develop, coach and educate some of the finest swimmers in the country. During this time we have produced more than 80 International Swimmers, 28 of whom have competed at Olympic and Commonwealth Games, winning 5 Olympic and 9 Commonwealth medals respectively. Our track record in Para Swimming is equally impressive with a total of 5 Paralympic medals at the 2008 Games in Beijing, 5 at the 2012 Games in London and 7 at the 2016 Games in Rio.

At the 2018 European Championships, 16 year old Mount Kelly pupil Federico Burdisso claimed a brilliant bronze medal in the Men's 200m Butterfly and has since been selected for the 2018 Youth Olympics and World Short Course Swimming Championships.

2019 has seen Mount Kelly grow from strength to strength with selections at all major summer international competitions. Federico Burdisso has been selected to represent Italy at the World Championships in Gwangju alongside fellow Mount Kellian Guarika Singh – representing Nepal. At the World Junior Championships Adewole Adekoya will be representing Nigeria and at European Junior championships, swimming captain Oliver Taverner and Harry Noble have been selected to represent Great Britain.

2019 has also seen a record number of summer national qualifiers for Mount Kelly with 57 athletes selected across the Home Nations, giving us the third most invited swimmers of any club in the country and the highest for a school based swimming programme.

Mount Kelly Swimming will provide a launch pad for swimmers toward national and international representation and for some European, World and Olympic Games. It is our intention to provide the best possible preparation for talented athletes who are looking to work hard and immerse themselves physically, mentally and academically in our exciting and unique swimming programme on offer for talented swimmers aged 8-18 years.

We have many exciting opportunities and resources in development. We recently built an 8 lane, 50 metre Olympic Legacy Swimming Pool which was opened in September 2016.
