Forest School

Our Pre-Prep children have had an amazing, happy, sunny time at Forest School this week doing a wide and exciting range of activities, some at the Prep and some further afield:

Year 1 and 2 spent the day on Dartmoor with Dartmoor Rescue who talked to the children about Safety on Dartmoor, basic first aid and basic navigation. On Tuesday, Year 1 visited a bee farm. Mr Hugh Walkington also came in to read to them and tell them tales of Dartmoor including the Hairy Hands and the Battle of the Pixcies!

On Wednesday the children had a visit from staff at Endsleigh Garden Centre and they are all now growing sun flowers to help raise some money for Marie Curie! On Thursday Year 1 visited Emma Georgel's farm. Mrs Forgan and Mrs Coleridge kindly came in to teach the children how to make damper bread and in the afternoon South West Lakes Trust helped Year 1 and 2 to discover what was living in the school lake.

Friday culminated with the whole of Pre-Prep together for lunch and playing parachute games.

It's been an amazing week for everyone – thank you to all the staff and visitors who have made it such a special learning experience for our little ones.
