Congratulations to Oliver Taverner who has been selected amongst 16 swimmers by The British Olympic Association to represent Team GB at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Gyor, Hungary in July.
A number of our Mount Kelly swimmers are also currently overseas competing internationally:
Tony-Joe Trett Oliver has commenced his campaign at the 2017 European Junior Swimming Championships in Israel with a huge personal best time in the 400m Freestyle of 4.02.96. Tony will be competing in his main event, the 400m Ind. Medley on Sunday – we wish him the best of luck.
Chloe Plater and Ella Plunkett have both been competing at the 2017 Island Games in Gotland, Sweden for the Isle of Wight and the Cayman Islands respectively. Chloe Plater has won three medals; Silver in the 800m Freestyle and Bronze in the 400m Freestyle and 400m Ind. Medley. Ella Plunkett made three finals on the last evening of racing, setting great personal bests in all events and taking a Bronze in the Mixed 4x50m Freestyle Relay. Many congratulations to both girls.
