Congratulations to Year 13 pupil, Sophie Russell, and OMK, Brittaney Yuen, who received their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards at Buckingham Palace on Thursday 24 May. In the last ten years Buckingham Palace has hosted the awards on only a couple of occasions, with St James’s Palace being the usual venue. It was also the first occasion that HRH Prince William has presented the awards and he spent some time talking to the group.
British Paralympian, David Weir CBE, presented the individual awards and spoke about his motivations, the 2012 Olympic Games, and answered questions from the group about how he achieved his 10 Gold medals.
