GCSE Drama trip to Theatre Royal

Posted: 20th September 2019

Year 10 Drama GCSE pupils enjoyed a fascinating tour of the Theatre Royal Plymouth's Production and Learning Centre this week, where sets, costumes and props are designed and created, finance and education departments are based, and companies rehearse. The experience increased the pupils' understanding of how busy a working theatre is and how theatre sits financially and creatively in a community.

The pupils' favourite parts of the day were exploring the large Wardrobe and marvelling at the wigs and costumes created for different genres and time periods, and watching carpenters and painters work in minute detail on sets created for an upcoming West End show.
