Opening of Prep Adventure Area

Posted: 6th September 2021

Following a fantastic fundraising effort last year, the new Prep Adventure Area was officially opened on Friday 3 September. It is a magical area of the school and will help embed the importance of team-work, leadership, outdoor education and fun! As an evolving part of the Prep, it will be exciting to see the children embrace the apparatus and enjoy using their imagination in their play.

The Year 8 fundraising team – now in Year 9 – were invited over from the College to cut the ribbon during a ceremony for pupils, and parents attended a second ceremony in the evening.

Pupils are already enjoying the new equipment and Prep boarders have put the camp fire to good use!

We would like to thank all the generous supporters of the Adventure Area, and in particular:

  • Alistair Thompson (OMK 1977-81) for making a leading gift to kick-start the Adventure Area project
  • The Jelley family for overseeing the Mount Kelly Soapbox Derby and Hotel Endsleigh Afternoon Tea fundraising events
  • The Year 8 pupil fundraising team for organising the coffee drive-thru, and all of the parents, staff and pupils who supported it
