GCSE Geography Field Trip

Posted: 28th September 2021

Year 10 GCSE Geography pupils carried out two investigations during a field trip to Boscastle on Monday 27 September. The first was a physical geography study into the changing characteristics of the River Valency as it flows from source to mouth. Pupils created transects based on river velocity and sediment size and depth in order to investigate their hypothesis.

In Boscastle, they researched the human geography issue of second homes and inequality through a range of qualitative surveys including questionnaires conducted with locals and tourists as well as researching the services in the area.
