Over 20 children from Year 8 took part in a music composition workshop run by University of Plymouth lecturer, Nuria Bonet Filella, and PHD student, Kate Ferguson, on Monday 24 January.
The first group activity consisted of compositing using only 1 note; choice of instruments, rhythm, tempo, dynamics and duration were vital for this tricky task. The second exercise was lyric writing – choosing a profession and objects in a room then linking them together to produce some humorous and some quite sinister songs!
