After ten months of training, Ten Tors finally took place at the weekend following a two-year break due to Covid.
The event retained all of its festival atmosphere and was a fantastic experience for each of the 24 pupils selected to take part. Mount Kelly entered three 35-mile teams and one 45-mile team this year and after a very early start on Saturday the teams were ready to get going, with the tension palpable as they waited for the starting canons. Saturday involved a full day of walking with teams navigating their way to their 7th or 8th tors. On Sunday our teams were up and away for 6am and met at the finish by proud parents with pasties and medals at the ready. Each team crossed the finish line before 1.30pm.
It was an incredible achievement for all involved, demonstrating Mount Kelly values to the full in order to get themselves and their teams through the event.
