Over Remembrance Weekend, 12 Lower Sixth pupils travelled to Oxford University to attend the Model United Nations Conference.
We represented a wide range of diverse countries in various committees such as the UN Climate COP27, the Nuclear Disaster Response in Chernobyl delegation, and the World Trade Organisation. We all learnt a lot and felt it was an extremely worthwhile experience that expanded our knowledge not only in how supranational institutions operate, but also gave us a chance to explore Oxford and have a look at what university life is like there. The weekend was also useful for our public speaking skills, as every one of us gave at least one speech or policy proposal to our respective committees during the conference.
