On Thursday 17 November a team of six Year 10 Design Technology pupils attended a WISE (Women Into Science and Engineering) event at Schneider Electric in Plymouth.
Schneider Electric is a global electronics company that designs and manufactures a range of hi-tech, electronic and App based products that control home electric systems like lighting and EV chargers and save consumers money in space heating systems.
The pupils enjoyed an in depth, behind the scenes tour of the factory and worked as a team to design a new App driven product that managed the environment in a Polytunnel to automatically control temperature, humidity and watering of plants for efficient and sustainable food production.
