COX talk

On Friday afternoon, Sixth Form and Year 11 pupils interested in Politics and Economics were lucky enough to listen to Tavistock’s local MP and former Attorney General, Sir Geoffrey Cox.

Sir Geoffrey is the Conservative MP for Torridge and West Devon and has been an MP continuously since 5 May 2005. We were taught about his surprising entry into parliament, his time as Attorney General (2018-2020) and the responsibilities of this role.

Popular queries arose about Brexit, due to his influence on such a historic event within his time in cabinet. We were further enlightened by his opinions of current economic affairs as well as political ideologies on these topics.

He has given us all great insights into law and politics that will inspire us all for years to come.
