Life in Victorian Times

Posted: 2nd February 2024

It was a fun-packed day out for Year 4 pupils at Morwellham Quay this week.

The trip was a great entry point into their IPC topic looking at the life and times of the Victorian era. Pupils learnt about school life, working down the mines, Victorian costumes, as well as domestic life in both rich and poor households (the children were captivated by outside lavatories!).

Pupils were able to have a real hands-on experience of this long and distinct period in history, and understand more about the dynamic shifts concerning inventions, medicine, The Great Exhibition, and Queen Victoria herself.
