National Apprenticeship Week

Posted: 9th February 2024

It is National Apprenticeship Week and pupils from Years 11 and 12 attended the National Apprenticeship Show in Exeter yesterday. They were able to speak to local and national employers about the various apprenticeship schemes they run and speak to new apprentices. Pupils commented that:

‘Being able to attend the National Apprenticeship Show, was an amazing opportunity. I’ve gained a great insight into all the career prospects out there and alternative options to a standard university education. Eko were an especially interesting company with degree apprenticeships in Nuclear defence engineering.’

‘My visit to the Apprenticeship Show was not just informative in regards of my possible career path prospects, but also very knowledgeable for fields in which I was previously uneducated. A personal favourite at today’s event was the UK Hydrographic office, not only did their staff provide incredible insight into their field, but also into general facts about the life as an apprentice. Overall, a very educational and fun experience!’
