Thomas Grieve

Tom joined Mount Kelly in August in 2021 as a Graduate Swim Coach on a year’s placement. He is currently completing his BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Coaching & Physical Education at ARU Cambridge and will complete his final year in 2022/23.

Tom has a passion for sports coaching and strength and conditioning for athletes and has been able to continue his own training with the City of Cambridge SC alongside his studies and coaching commitments. He coached the Performance 2, Youth Fit and Senior squads at the City of Cambridge SC and prior to his move to Cambridge, Tom swam and coached for Colchester Swimming Club and the Colchester Swimming Academy.

Tom started swimming in Mumbai (India) and America whilst living overseas with his family. Since then, his love for swimming has continued and he still loves to train and compete. He competed at the Middle East Championships in Dubai in February 2020, making finals in multiple events. Being a student athlete himself, he has learnt how to effectively manage his time between his University commitments, coaching, training and competing. Tom believes his experiences enable him, as a coach, to relate well to other athletes and provide the right support to help them make the most effective use of their time to reach their potential.

After finishing his degree Tom is hoping to take a Master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning to further support his career aspirations.
