Music of Hope and Remembrance

Posted: 14th November 2018

The inaugural Remembrance Concert was held at St Eustachius’ Church last Saturday, instigated by Mount Kelly and featuring musicians and singers from Tavistock College and the Stannary Brass Band.

The College Chamber Choir performed two sets and also sang in a moving performance of John Williams’ theme from Saving Private Ryan with the band under the direction of its conductor and Mount Kelly brass teacher, Peter Jones.  The Chamber Choir were in excellent voice and gave a haunting rendition of In Paradisum from the Faure Requiem as well as the first performance of a new arrangement of the song I Found featuring George Bowles as the baritone soloist.

It was wonderful evening of music making involving the whole community and there was standing room only in the church.
