Year 2 pupils celebrated the life of Robert Burns on Friday afternoon with their own version of Burns NIght, following a week of preparation.
The children prepared a three course meal for 50 people; cock-a-leekie soup, haggis, neeps and tatties, followed by clootie dumpling. The Selkirk Grace was read before the haggis was served, with Ava giving a glorious rendition of An Address to a Haggis. Guests were challenged to a quiz and some impressive scores were achieved!
Following the meal, pupils danced the Gay Gordons with partners and invited their guests to join in. A wonderful afternoon concluded with a rendition of Auld Lang Syne.
