A Level Geography Field Trip

Posted: 3rd May 2019

On Thursday 25 and Friday 26 April, Year 12 Geography pupils visited Bristol and the Brecon Beacons on their residential field trip run by the Geography department. In Bristol they investigated the issues related to urban regeneration, focusing on the changes that both communities have experienced socially and in the built environment through questionnaires, emotion surveys and environmental quality studies.

In the Brecon Beacons the focus was on physical geography and evaluating the impact of the last Ice Age on the landscape.

The two days gave pupils a grounding in the techniques needed to undertake their own investigation at A Level, which will represent 20% of their marks.
