To celebrate National Poetry Day 2020, pupils and staff across the School were invited to submit a written or spoken entry into a Virtual Poetry Slam.
We received some fantastic responses and are now in the primary stages of judging. Next week we move to the second round, whereby the selection of year group finalists will be shared during tutorial time, for the democratic process of choosing our first, second and third place winners to take place.
Head of English, Mrs Whittleworth commented, ‘Having joined Mount Kelly in September, I am so very impressed with the enthusiasm, depth of insight, and sheer imagination our pupils are demonstrating; we have some extremely talented and thoughtful individuals here who are quite evidently natural poets!‘
