Silver and Gold Expeditions

Posted: 25th June 2021

65 pupils from Years 10-13 have completed their Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh assessed expeditions this week, with all showing great grit and determination throughout.
On day one, the clouds came down and visibility dropped to 20m on the peaks, however, it didn’t prevent them completing their routes and all groups made it to camp in good time. The weather then improved and the sun shone. Teams were completely self sufficient for the three or four days and did a fantastic job of both their navigation and campcraft.
One staff member commented that, ‘As ever, I felt proud of our pupils who behaved in an exemplary manner, and I am proud to be part of the Mount Kelly community.’
